Tools accessible from the menu helps to manage Pixtel application data and captured files, and other useful activities such as recycle bin.

Recycle Bin

When captured screenshots, videos and audio files are deleted, they are moved to Recycle Bin. By clicking on Recycle Bin menu item, it will open the following interface which displays the thumbnails of all files deleted.

By selecting the files, and clicking on Restore Selected button, application will restore the files back. By clicking on Recycle Selected, application will delete those files permanently and clears the disk space.

Manage Data

Manage Data sub-menu shows the available actions to manage data. These include: 1. Backup Data, 2. Restore Data, 3. Relocate Data and 4. Cleanup Data.

Backup Data

This action opens up Backup data user interface and helps user to create a back up of all the data files that are used by Pixtel. Generally, backup data location should be in a different drive than the currently data location. By default, Pixtel data is located in %USERPROFILE%/AppData/Pixtel. By default, backup folder is located in %USERPROFILE%/AppData/Pixtel/backup. Each of the backup is saved in a folder name with a timestamp.

Backup window displays the size of the pixtel data and the available space on the drive. By clicking on the Backup button, a copy of the data and all files are copied in the backup location. Backup time depends on the size and the number of files that need to be copied.

Cloud Backup

In the next release, cloud backup service will be enabled. Pixtel will automatically keeps a copy of all data online. This online data will be accessible from browser for viewing and sharing.

Restore Backup

Restore backup tool helps to restore all the data from backup. This is helpful in case of any data corruption or disk failures.

Relocate Data

Sometimes, your main drive that maintains Pixtel data reaches a limit, it is important to relocate Pixtel data to another drive that has space. Relocate Data essentially copies the data into a new location and sets that location as the primary data location. For regular use, you shouldn't change the Pixtel data location. This is used when there are disk space issues or sharing on the network drive/cloud mapped drives for using from multiple systems. It is recommended to take a data backup before executing this operation. Default backup directory is also changed as required.

Cleanup Data

Cleanup data will analyze the data and files to see if there are any any backups, snapshots and files that need to be cleaned up for freeing up the space. This will also optimizes the database removing unnecessary records. It is recommended to take a backup before executing this op
