GetPixit is an innovative screen capture, share and management software. It enables to capture screens and images in a variety of ways and facilitates sharing them with cloud and non-cloud applications seamlessly and also comes with an editing tool for image annotations and manipulating images. This application lets user to capture high quality images, manage and organize them with different options such as Categories, Sub categories, Tags, etc., which will be helpful for searching a particular image among a number of captures.
Just press a hotkey and GetPixit will take a screenshot of your screen or the entire window with extensive capture option support. Inbuilt app integration supports cloud sharing with Google Drive, OneDrive, OneNote, Box, DropBox, Facebook, Jira, and others. Application contains a single highly usable window with most of the functionality available through icon buttons around the border. Both capture and editing tools are in single place.

All features are available around the tool on four sides providing middle area for image display. All features are grouped into meaningful sections. Home bar on the left comprises of capture buttons on the top, management buttons with fly-out panels in the middle and user preferences in the bottom. File, Edit, Window and Help menus are in the menu bar on the top. In the bottom, captured image properties along with image navigation and drag me buttons are managed in status bar. Toolbar on the top below menu bar, consists of common buttons for annotation editing and changing properties in addition to grid view and smart pencil buttons on the top right. Image annotation and image editing tools are located on the right. These tools can be toggled using a toggle button on the right bottom. In the following, each of the sections are explained in detail.
Home Bar (1)
Home bar is the left most quick access bar that has options to capture, manage the captured images and user preferences.

User Preferences | ||
User Preferences | User can change preferences/options for various application components in preferences window. There is no explicit saving requirements. When a parameter value is changed, it is effective right away except in some cases where explicit save is required. For example, Capture Mouse Pointer option helps to include cursor in the captured image. |
- Draw Mode
Toggle the button to switch between Draw and Image mode on right hand side of the Pixit editor. Draw mode has editing tools like Highlighter, Blur rectangle, Sticky note and annotations to add on canvas such as Text, Arrows, Lines, Counters etc., that enables the user to edit captured images.

2.1 Annotation Properties:
Right click on annotation; a property window will be opened. Style, Text, Effects, Size, Presets options are available under “Properties” window. (Refer: Table 3)

Image mode has options to Resize, Rotate, Flip, adjust Brightness & contrast and apply Effects etc. on image.

4. Status Bar:
Status bar is located at the bottom of the Pixit window which has options to group an image to a category-sub category, rate an image, bookmark, add tags, provide image information, zoom etc., that helps in managing the images.

6. Menu bar:

- Tab Bar:
Pixit unlike any other screen capturing tool supports multi-tab interface. User can have the same experience as browser without requiring them to open one image at a time to review the content. User can drag and drop, arrange, rename, duplicate, copy the tabs.
User can adjust the maximum tab limit in user preferences. Any opened document not visible in the tab-row can be viewed in tab drop down.

- Canvas:
The workspace to do all operations on image is Canvas. Pixit supports two types of canvas, one is Image Canvas and the other is Virtual Canvas. Image Canvas is a region to view and edit images imported or captured with Pixit. Region around the image canvas after importing/embedding the image is the Virtual canvas.
Pixit supports adding annotations in both canvas. Unlike other products adding annotations in Virtual Canvas is seamlessly done. Virtual canvas helps the user not to worry about expanding the image canvas to add annotations. Tool will take care of auto canvas expansion when copied into external applications.

In above Figure 6, region within orange border that has the image is Image Canvas and region outside orange border till blue border is Virtual Canvas.
- Thumbnail view:
- To open Thumbnail view choose icon from Toolbar or navigate to “Window” -> “Grid view”.
- This gives the thumbnail view of all the images opened in Pixit editor. It helps user to select or deselect required images that can be exported to any of “Share”

- 10. Pixit Tray Options:
When Pixit is closed, application will be in minimised state. All capture operations available in the tray (Refer: Figure 5) can be performed with Shortcuts or menu options. Shortcuts can be modified in User preferences. Pixit Editor can be opened by double clicking the icon when it is closed.
- Category:
Pixit stores a lot of images, to fetch an image among a number of files categories, rating, tags and flag are used. Categories help to identify the appropriate images. Rate and flag are used to differentiate each image. Tags are helpful to quickly point an image. Details of image such as name, file type, size etc. are available under Image info.
Category:
User can add category to images to reduce time of search. User can save images with category as main folder and subcategory as sub folder in file directory.

- Click to add, describe, edit and delete a category – subcategory (Refer: Figure 7).

Rating:
Rating help user to classify images.
- Hover on the stars and select the stars to rate an image. After the image is rated the stars turn blue.
Flag:
- Click icon to make an image flagged.
Web Visual Bookmark:
- For captures made from web enable visual bookmark to retrieve captures quickly during search.
Tags:
- Click a tab opens to enter a tag and select from listed tags to image.

Image Info: Image details are available under Image info. Pixit saves the image details as meta-data which will be used to organize and search images.
- Click to view image details.
Image can be described in Description which helps to directly export the image to any word document. Click to add description or rename an image and click to save.- URL: For images captured from web, Pixit remembers the URL of capture and saves it, which when clicked directs to web-page.
- Annotations: All the annotations added on the image with respective annotation type, created time, created user, location information is available which will be helpful in building wireframe.
- Histogram: Color tones like Luminosity, Red, Green, Blue along with Dimensions, Pixels and other image color information are obtained here so that user can modify them in Image mode if required.
12. Context Menu Options:
Any image captured or imported to Pixit has following options on right click (Refer: Figure 14).
Bring Forward | Brings embedded images, annotations on an image forward. | |
