Cursor

Selects one or multiple objects, to move or resize the object.

 

Text

Adds any text annotation on the image and canvas area.

Text: Adds plain text without any box. This is useful for captions and titles. 

 

Textbox: Adds text in a text box. Text is aligned inside the box.

 

Rich Textbox: Adds RTF annotation. By double clicking the annotation, it opens RTF editor for adding the content.

Message Callout: Message is displayed in a box with a pointer to the message source.
Arrow Callout: Message is displayed in a box with an arrow pointer to the message source.
Multi-line Callout: Message is displayed in a box with a multi-line arrow pointer to the message source.
Round Left Callout: Message is displayed in an ellipse with a left side pointer to the message source.
Round Center Callout: Message is displayed in an ellipse with a center pointer to the message source.
Round Right Callout: Message is displayed in an ellipse with a right side pointer to the message source.
Text Ellipse: Adds text in an ellipse. Text is aligned inside the ellipse.
Cloud Callout: Adds text in a cloud shape. Text is aligned inside the shape.
Bam Callout: Adds text in an explosion shape. Text is aligned inside the shape.
Star Callout: Adds text in a star shape. Text is aligned inside the shape.


Arrow

Draws arrow on the image/canvas

Line Arrow: Draws a single/double pointed line arrow.

Edge Arrow: Draws an arrow with edged point in one end ('pointed edge on the other end' OR 'a tapered end')
Arrow: Draws a broad arrow


Freehand Lines

Allows drawing freehand lines on an image. If the smart pencil option is enabled, application tries to convert drawn shapes into geometric shapes.

Geometric Shapes


Allows drawing different geometric shapes on the image.


Line: Draws a single line. Press 'Shift' button to align line either horizontally or vertically while drawing. This helps to draw perfect horizontal and vertical lines

   

Lines:  Draws multiple connected straight lines using the selected points. 

   

Lines with Interpolation:  Draws an interpolated curve through a set of points. 

Rectangle:  Draws a rectangle with cornered edges. Press 'Shift' button to draw a square while drawing.

Rounded Rectangle: Draws a rectangle with round edges. Press 'Shift' button to draw a square while drawing.

Ellipse: Draws an ellipse. Press 'Shift' button to draw a circle while drawing.

Polygon: Draws a filled polygon connecting the selected points.

Polygon with Interpolation:  Draws a filled interpolated smooth edged polygon through the selected points.

Freehand Polygon: Draws a filled freehand polygon. If the smart pencil is enabled, application tries to fit a geometric shape if possible.


Highlight

Highlights a region on image. Highlight color can be selected from top toolbar or from the properties.

Blur Rectangle

Blurs a portion of image. This is annotation and can be moved and resized as required. 

EraserErases a part of the image with white color. Width of the eraser can be selected from the outline width in the top tool bar.


Sticky Note

Adds a sticky note annotation. This annotation is usually used to include a note on the image outside the image to make a note (, but outside the image). 

                                                OR This annotation is usually used to add a note about the image.


Counter Rectangle

Adds continuous numbering on the image/canvas. Option to reset the numbering is also available.

Counter Circle:  Adds a non-editable circular counter.

Counter Rectangle:  Adds an editable rectangular counter that has options like cut, copy and paste on right click.

Embed Image

Embeds an image in an annotation from a selected image file. Annotation can be resized as required.

Timestamp

 Timestamp, Rubber stamp and Link annotations are grouped together.

  

Time stamp: Adds Timestamp along with image metadata like categories, creation time, dimensions etc.  User can modify the default template in user preferences. It is an editable textbox and is often used for adding image info to the image before sharing.

Rubber Stamp: Helps to add stamp on the image E.g. Approved by <User-name>. User can modify the default template in user preferences. Stamp is editable. 
Link: Helps to add an URL on image which when clicked directs to web browser in view only interaction mode.


Clipart/Images

Displays a list of defined web URLs. Click on the links to open images in a browser. Drag and drop Clip art/Images from browser to the canvas. These images will be converted into embedded image annotations. They can also be dropped on toolbar to import and open as a new image in a tab.

Vector Icons

Adds a selected vector icon on image and canvas. Recently selected icons along with a set of predefined icons are presented in a popup for selection. These are font icons. In order to change the color of an icon, font color needs to be changed. It acts as foreground color for icons. 

Vector Icon browser

A large collection of vector icons are displayed in Icon browser. Icons can be copied or dragged and dropped to the image/canvas.

Description

Resize Image

Re-sizes the image with the provided dimensions.

Resize Canvas

Re-sizes the canvas position, width, height, color etc. with values provided.

Rotate

Rotates the image clockwise in 90° increments.

Flip Vertical

Flips the selected image and any annotations that are burnt on image or canvas vertically. Unflattened annotations are not rotated.

Flip Horizontal

Flips the selected image and any annotations that are burnt on image or canvas horizontally. Unflattened  annotations are not rotated.

Image BorderEnables setting image border. A dialog is presented to select border settings. They can be saved as default for reuse.

Image Auto Level

Auto levels (Automatically sets) the brightness and contrast of the image.

Image Auto Color Correction

Auto corrects the image colors

 

Brightness & Contrast

Helps to adjust the brightness and contrast of the image.

 

Image Formats

Supports converting into different image formats such as Grey Scale 8bits/pixel.

 

Color Effects

Supports a series of color effects like Invert color, Black & White etc.

Applies the selected filters such as eroding, blurring, and sharpening

Tab Bar (7)

Application unlike any other screen capturing tools supports multi-tabbed interface. User can have the same experience as browser without requiring them to open one image (This is a feature unique to GetPixit and currently not supported in any other screen capturing tool. Tab Bar supports multi-tabbed interface, allowing the user to open multiple images at the same time.)

User can have the same experience as browser without requiring them to open one image at a time to review the content. User can drag and drop, arrange, rename, duplicate, copy the tabs. The maximum tab limit can be adjusted in user preferences. Any opened document not visible in the tab-row can be viewed in tab drop down.

When the application is closed, application will be in a minimized state running in the background. All capture operations available in the tray can be performed with Shortcuts or menu options. Shortcuts can be modified in user preferences. Editor can be opened by double clicking the icon when it is closed.


Image Properties

Application manages a large number of images and to fetch an image among a number of files, created/modified date, categories, rating, tags and flag can be used. Categories help to identify the appropriate images. Rating and flag are used to further . (GetPixit users typically manage thousands of image files. In order to find specific image(s), any of the following identifiers can be used (to narrow down the search) - categories, tags, created/modified date, rating and flag.)

Details of image such as name, file type, size etc. are available in Image info panel. Image properties can be changed in the bottom status bar.

Both image name and description can be edited directly using the edit button in this pop-up. Description is used in exporting images to word format. Application ('Application'property is used to identify the main application that contains this capture and (the) Window title ('Window Title') corresponds to the title of the Window window or Title title of the web page. For images captured from web, application stores the URL of capture and saves it (necessary??), which when clicked to (will) open the web-page in browser.

  • Annotations

    All the annotations added on the image with respective annotation type, created time, created user, location information is available which will be helpful in designing wire frame drawings. (For all the annotations added on the image, the corresponding details such as 'Annotation Type', 'Creation Time', 'Created By', 'Location' are saved. (They will be helpful, if there is a need in the future to design wire frame drawings.) OR (They will be helpful to design wire frame drawings later on))

                                                                                             (The second word in the headings is starting with lower case, like 'type' in 'Annotation type' & 'time' in 'Creation time'. IS THIS CONSISTENT???)

  • Histogram

    Color histograms for Luminosity, Red, Green, and Blue can be obtained by clicking on the Histogram button in the Image Info panel.
